Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Harina P.A.N. Corn Meal
  • 2.5 Cups Milk or Water
  • 2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese
  • ½ Stick Melted Butter
  • Salt to taste
Instructions
Arepa Waffles
  1. Add 2 cups of corn meal and 2 cups warm milk or water to a large bowl. Reserve the remaining ½ cup to add if you need it later.
  2. Add 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese.
  3. Add 2 good pinches of salt.
  4. Form a ball with the dough by mixing the ingredients.
  5. Break off a piece about the size of a large meatball.
  6. Flatten and form a bowl in the cup of your hand.
  7. Place shredded mozzarella cheese inside.
  8. Close the arepa in half and seal the edges.
  9. Form a flat round object.
  10. Turn on your waffle iron and once ready, place the arepa ball in between the irons.
  11. Put a decent amount of weight on it when closing to create the impressions.
  12. Once cheese starts to escape and ooze out and it looks nice and golden brown, it is done.
  13. Should take 3-5 minutes in the waffle maker.
  14. Enjoy the deep pockets of cheesy crunchy goodness.
