So far since launching ArepasDelGringo less than 40 days ago, I have only really focused on Facebook and thus far, I think it is succeeding. 10,200 followers to the ArepasDelGringo official Facebook page. Not bad right? I know how important social is, but it really is a lot of work to keep up with it. I need to spend my time working on original content. My next social focus is going to be Pinterest to start building an audience for my website.

Social drives about 40% of my traffic to date and I know how important it will be in the future. I want people to be sharing my photos all over the place and that is not going to happen snail mail.

I opened a Pinterest account last month and it has pretty much been sitting dormant. Other than posting about 10 pins to about three boards.

I need to build a Pinterest audience fast. I need to start monetizing this website and driving organic traffic is going to be the only way to do so. I do not want to spend money on advertising at this point. In the future we shall see, but now no. I need to figure this thing out.

I am starting to build traction, but I need to get this up there fast. I know these things take time but I feel like I need to move. From a social standpoint these have been the most popular shared pages. And time spent on site has been better than expected.

Pinterest is an interesting creature to me. Even though I come from a Software Engineering background, I just don’t really get the inner workings of it yet.

I see people sharing each others pins over and over again, but I cant get more than 5 followers. And I have good content. What gives? How do I do this? I have some Ideas I need to try.

Let’s see what I can do with Pinterest in the next few days. Then I can report back with some substance.
